Our living room... so far.

Unfortunately I didn't take a photo of the living room before we started painting. I found a few random pictures that give you an idea of how it looked when we moved in. This one shows the lovely gray walls. The ceiling was also this gray color.

If you look past the ugly kitchen wallpaper and behind our strange dog you can see a little bit of the purple that took up the whole wall around the fireplace. Gray and purple... ugh.

A cute picture of Maya and a better view of the purple.

We tested this color on the wall after it was primed to make sure we liked it.
I liked the primer better than the purple that was there.

This is how it looks now. The color we chose for the fireplace all is called 'Peanut Butter' and the other walls are painted a cream color called 'Cancun Sand'.

As you can see we still need accent furniture like chairs and a coffee table along with window coverings but the room feels so much better than it did when we moved in.

First Golf Win!!!

Curtis and his 4 man team (including his brother, Les) won the BYU Alumni Golf Tournament last week at the Highlands Ranch Golf Club!  They finished 15 under in the scramble, just one ahead of the next group of golfers.  They have won a trip to a national college alumni tournament in Pinehurst, North Carolina at the end of October, in which 60 other colleges are taking part.  Even though he is the only alumni on his team (it was called the "Friends of BYU" golf tournament :)  ), they are all pretty excited to golf at one of the nation's oldest and prestigious golf courses.  When I get some pics from the day, I will post them.  Go Cougars!

Ryan & Trinny's Wedding

Maya taking a nap on the way down. Most of you probably got a text from Marianne with a photo very similar to this but she just looked so cute I had to take my own picture and post it.

Dave hid his phone right as I was taking this picture because he thought I was trying to get a photo of him being antisocial with his iPhone. That wasn't my intention but it is kind of annoying when he does that during family functions, don't you think?

Antie Mers and my cute Maya.

Thought all of the sisters who weren't able to be there would appreciate a photo of the cake. The ribbon on it was gorgeous and looked so pretty when it sparkled in the sunlight.

When I went to the zoo in 4th grade my parents sent me with a camera and said that I should make sure to get my friends in the photos and not just the animals. That advice stuck with me so I made sure to get Mers and Maya in the photo with the cake. (See, I did take some of my parents advice every now and then.)

Mary Lou giving Trinny's bouquet a thorough examination. I do believe it was approved by all.

Maya loves slides.

She claps every time she gets to the bottom.

She especially loves going down slides with Daddy.

Prettiest girl I've ever seen.
Mary Lou assisting the photographer.

Maya loves her grandpa.

Not sure who the little girl is holding Maya (she was a server) but she loved her and probably would have carried her around all night had we let her.

Such a happy girl.

Cake cutting time. They were way to nice to each other and no messes were made.
